100 years of Cub Scouting logo

It was in 1916 that Baden-Powell launched the new Wolf Cub section for boys aged 8-11 years. This was in response to the requests from boys of this age who wanted to experience the same Scouting that the older boys had been getting since 1908.

To celebrate the occasion we have produced a glossy 36 page booklet containing memories and messages from well known people, both nationally and locally. This booklet includes a brief history of our Cub Pack along with some photographs looking back over the decades.

The booklet costs just £3.00 a copy and is available from Bob Mole 01502 724421. All proceeds from the sale of this booklet will go towards the Group Building Appeal.

On Sunday 23rd October we will holding a Centenary get together in the Scout Hall for all those who were once a Wolf Cub or Cub Scout and particularly all past members of our Pack plus those who have contributed in anyway to our booklet.

campfireWe will start ay 3.00pm with a display of photographs and memorabilia and a chance to catch up with old friends. This will be followed by a camp fire (indoors if wet) followed by light refreshments.

All are welcome. Copies of our book will be on sale.

On Friday 16th December at 19.16 (7.16pm) Cubs across the whole UK will be reaffirming their promise in unusual places. Details to folow.
